Equity markets remain strong and this trend has become more obvious since the second half of this year. Within that segment the surge in equity markets of ASEAN countries is particularly outstanding. As shown in the Fund Roundup of the past couple of weeks, the Morningstar ASEAN Equity category is always on the list of the top performing categories. While the low interest environment across the globe is anticipated to be maintained in the foreseeable future, hot money continues to hunt for investment opportunities. Emerging ma

rkets such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines, which are recognized as markets less affected by shrink on export demand, are on the spot light. ASEAN Equity category posted a return of 28.66% up to 21 Oct 2010, which are the stronger performer among other Asia-Pacific counterparts such as Asia-Pacific ex-Japan or any Greater China Equity categories.
