Best MPF Scheme - Invesco Strategic MPF Scheme

M: Morningstar I: Invesco

M: Can you highlight any major changes made to the scheme over the course of 2017? In particular, please outline the investment options that were added to the scheme and/or any changes that helped facilitate a better client experience for scheme members.

I: The investment team has always been focusing on investment performances aiming to generate sustainable returns for members in the long run.   In term of products, we are in the verge of adding on some of the large country segment focused funds to our platform to enhance choices for members.

M: Can you comment on how the scheme’s underlying investment options are put together? How do you determine the appropriate product types (e.g. equities, fixed income, target-date) for the scheme and subsequently, the most suitable investment strategy/mandate for each type of product(s)? If the scheme employs external managers, please briefly comment on your manager selection process.

I: Invesco, by the way is an independent global asset manager which we manage assets globally for institutional & pension as well as retail clients on all occasions, hence, we do not employ external manager(s).    We adopt the “Centers-of-excellence” approach for our scheme’s underlying investment options, which utilizes on global on the ground expertise(s) to generate alpha and to provide the most appropriate balance between risk-return profile to our clients.

M: What is the role of fees when you consider the overall appeal of your offering? With an increasingly cost-competitive landscape, how do your fees compare with your peers? Are there any initiatives to reduce fees?

I: Invesco belongs to the low cost quartile segment and remains competitive in the fee end.
